Stuff

As part of the moving process, I came across a large box of negatives.  Not wanting to tos them out, I bought a scanner that allows me to scan in the negatives and convert the images into digital photos that I can store in a number of ways.  As I scan in the images, I'm drawn to all the different phases of my decorating life, the various furniture selections, the wall hangings, and the wallpaper and color choices.  About the only pieces I have left is the collection of all my dad's artwork.  Almost everything else is gone, the 250 piece cookbook collection, the collection of bells, the herds of cows from the sunporch, and the collection of clocks to name a few.  Mostly lost in the nig move of 2005 or also referred to as the divorce.  Some were given away and some were thrown in the trash in an effort to declutter my life.  I'm thankful as I go back through the old pictures I can reminisce to times that were sometimes difficult, but also to times filled with much love and laughter.

The First Post

My middle daughter, who works at a financial institute, recently attended an event at her workplace addressing the characteristics of the various generations.  When she came home that evening she informed me that I was part of the "club sandwich" group.  This was news to me.  My parents are very much alive and well and recently celebrated their 65 wedding anniversary and between my parents, my 3 daughters, my husband's 3 sons and the 4 grandchildren, I guess we are the club sandwich group.  I hope to use this blog to discuss the challenges of life with a large family, from dealing with aging issues, to grandchildren on the spectrum, and everything in between.
